Welcome to
Virtual Season 2021!

Virtual Season 2021 Bust0410

January 5, 1971 - On that date fifty years ago, the Alias Smith & Jones Pilot aired as a mid-season replacement.  Two 'pretty-good' bad men rode into our living rooms and stole our hearts: Hannibal Heyes and Jed "Kid" Curry - alias Joshua Smith and Thaddeus Jones.

As a special tribute to our favorite TV western, this year's 'Virtual Season' will be aired mid-season, starting on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Throughout this season, "oldies but goodies" episodes from the past will be interspersed amongst the regular story episodes.

The Anniversary Vaults by Calico
Sheriff Lom Trevors makes a trip to Cheyenne to see the governor, while Heyes and Curry stay behind to help Miss Porter with arrangements for the Porterville Founders' Day Celebration. What could go wrong?  First aired for the 40th Anniversary.

The Odds Are Good by Inside Outlaw
What do two fortune hunters, a pair of strangers with familiar names and a treasure map all have in common? The odds are good that Heyes and Curry will be able to figure it out.  New episode for the 50th Anniversary.

Into the West Came Many Men by Penski
The champeen tracker in all of southern Utah and that other fella hire on at the Lone Pine Ranch, where they run into a chuckwagon full of familiar-sounding characters!  A rerun episode from the 40th Anniversary.

The Yosemite Wager by Penski
Summoned to Silky O'Sullivan's home, Heyes and the Kid are asked to help their old friend. Their mission: steal an object that is unstealable - without getting caught. If Hannibal Heyes can't do it, nobody can!

Quarantine by JoAnn Baker and Dusty Boots
When Heyes and the Kid find themselves stuck in a town with a deadly illness, the question is whether or not they can keep their true identities hidden until the quarantine is lifted.  A story from the first Virtual Season in 2004/2005.

Make No Mistake - Part 1 by moonshadow
When Heyes and Curry split up in order to do two different jobs, the Kid ends up in some major hot water.  Will Heyes be able to come to his partner's rescue in time?  A story from the second Virtual Season in 2005/2006.

Make No Mistake - Part 2 by moonshadow
Thinking he has done the unthinkable and killed Hannibal Heyes, Kid Curry rides to Kettledrum with Reverend Spencer to see for himself. He runs into a familiar face from his past and a loco deputy - both dead-set on revenge!    A story from the second Virtual Season in 2005/2006.

Decoys - Part 1 by Little Bluestem
According to newspaper headlines and eyewitness accounts, the evidence from a string of stagecoach robberies point straight to Hannibal Heyes and Kid Curry being in league with the Devil's Hole Gang.  Have Heyes and Curry given up on the amnesty deal and returned to their old ways?

Decoys Part 2 by Little Bluestem
In an effort to salvage their reputations, as well as their amnesty, the real Heyes and Curry team up with Harry Briscoe, Lucy Pinkerton and members of the Devil's Hole gang. A Hannibal Heyes plan is put into action to end the stagecoach robbers' reign of terror.

A String of Bad Luck by Penski
A stage ride turns into nothing but "A String of Bad Luck" for Heyes and Curry.  Another story from the archives.

Frauds and Fistfights by Nightwalker
A simple delivery job leaves the boys short of money and stuck in the middle of nowhere.  They need money and quickly.  But Heyes already has a plan...

Ill Met By Moonlight by Calico
Hannibal Heyes and Kid Curry are summoned by Governor Moonlight for yet another 'important meeting'. Their only problem: they have1,089 miles to travel and only two days to get there.

That's a wrap to the 2021 Virtual Season!

As the Executive Producer of VS, I want to thank this season's writers:  Calico, Nightwalker, Penski, Inside Outlaw, Little Bluestem, JoAnn Baker, and moonshadow.  Writing in the VS format and pleasing the producers is not an easy task.  Thank you so much for your time, talent, cleverness, and willingness to compromise to "air" a wonderful "episode" of a show we all loved!

genius

I want to thank the producer, moonshadow.  It's time and commitment on your part and realizing your comments or suggests may not make you popular with your peers.  Thank you for all your hard work!

goodjob

And I want to thank the reader, especially those that commented on the stories.  Writers thrive on feedback, even if it's a "good story" and a thumbs up smilie.  Most of you know how discouraging it is when you know folks are reading, but not commenting.  So to the readers who enjoyed the stories, especially those who took the time and effort to comment, thank you!

study

[b]Writers, do you want to join in on the fun and challenge of writing a VS story?  It's a team effort so you'll have lots of help along the way.  If you want to be part of the team, please contact Royanna Huggins on the Virtual Season website (Stories: Alias Smith and Jones) or on Facebook.
